"My viola wolf notes improved and in just a week there was no way to tell that the viola was actually brand new."  Roxanna Patterson, Principal Viola, Seattle studio sessions

“Wow, this really works…”
John Young, award winning violin maker

“the Krentzer drastically improved the tone, volume, evenness, and response of both my instruments,
a Thomas Dodd circa 1800 and Daniel Hachez 2004...the wolf tones were drastically reduced as well.”

Jonathan Burnstein, Seattle Symphony

"I thought my new Cremonese cello had possibilities when I bought it, but after just one week on the Krentzer, all my expectations were exceeded and then some! The positive results were huge and evident the moment I put my bow to the strings. It now sounds like an old Italian instrument with an especially luscious low end that was simply not there before, and the response is quick and effortless."         Richard Eckert, freelance cellist, DMA Eastman School of Music

Before and After Samples
This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

In these samples the instruments are bowed four times at 2 seconds per bow (before) and immediately then four times at 2 seconds per bow (after).    This is repeated for each of the open strings in turn.  After the open strings have been played, the first natural harmonics (the middle of each string) are played in the same manner.   A-A-A-A(before)A-A-A-A(after)D-D-D-D(before)D-D-D-D(after)....

We encourage you to listen to these samples on headphones if you don't have high quality speakers in order to hear as much detail and full spectrum as possible.

These before and after samples are produced in a scientifically valid way, with great care to keeping all variables constant. Each instrument is placed in a specially built form that holds the instrument and the microphone. This same form is used each time to ensure the exact placement of the instrument and the microphone. Instruments are bowed in the same place on each different string for two seconds per full bow with only the bows own weight. Each instrument has the same strings and is bowed with the same bow. Absolutely no changes are made to the recording device from before to after and no sound manipulation has been used whatsoever. Each instrument is played in the same place in the same room and by the same player.

As can be heard in the samples, played-in instruments get clearer, or more focused, more even, more colorful, and deeper and louder.
