Kevin Krentz is a professional cellist in the Seattle area.  He plays with the Finisterra Trio, and has been a winner in the Fischoff, Zinetti International, and Greenlake Competitions.  Kevin is very active in the studio recording industry in Seattle and can be heard on hundreds of projects from movies, CD’s, video games, and commercials including Brokeback Mountain, The Scary Movies, Man on Fire, Ghost Rider, Halo 2 and 3, Dave Mathews Band, Evanescence, to name a few.

As someone who has fallen in love with string instruments and their making, Kevin has developed a passion for modern and new instruments and plays them himself.  When Kevin bought a new instrument by John Harrison, he found himself in the same situation so many musicians buying new instruments find themselves in.  Instead of settling down for a several year wait for his new instrument to meets its potential, he began a process of experimentation and research into a way to play the instrument in quickly.
